This policy explains how Tshifhiwa (“we”) handles personal information for ScanPDF at https://hillcresticollege.co.za, in line with South Africa’s Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

1. What we collect

• Account details: your name, email address and username, and your password (stored in scrambled form by WordPress).
• Order details: what you bought, the amount, the date and the order status. Card and bank details are handled by PayFast and are not stored by us.
• Access details: the date your paid access ends.
• On your device: a small counter saved in your browser to track free daily use. This stays on your device.

2. What we do not collect

The files you convert, merge, compress or read (images, PDFs and the text extracted from them) are processed in your browser. They are not sent to or stored on our servers.

3. Why we use your information

To create and run your account, take payment, unlock paid access, give support, meet legal and tax duties, and keep the site secure.

4. Third parties

• PayFast processes payments and receives the details needed to do so.
• Content delivery networks (such as cdnjs and jsDelivr) supply the code libraries the tools use, and Google Fonts supplies the typeface. These providers can see your IP address when your browser loads those files.
• Text extraction downloads language data from a public server the first time you use it. Your files are not sent there.
• Our hosting provider stores the website and account database.

We do not sell your personal information.

5. Keeping and protecting information

We keep account and order records for as long as your account is open and as long as the law requires for accounting. We use reasonable security measures, but no online service is completely secure.

6. Your rights

You may ask to see, correct or delete your personal information, and may object to how it is used, by emailing maumela.tshifhiwa.2@gmail.com. If you are unhappy with our response, you may complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa) at inforegulator.org.za.

7. Cookies

WordPress uses cookies to keep you logged in, and the shop uses cookies to keep your cart.
